I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University Medical Center in Freiburg (Uniklinik Freiburg, Lab of Stereotaxy and Electrophysiology) interested in adaptive deep brain stimulation (aDBS) based on brain and/or behavioural signals. During my PhD, I conducted research in EEG-based brain-computer interfaces for control applications (e.g. robotic arms or grasp neuroprostheses for people with spinal cord injury), supervised by Prof. Gernot Müller-Putz in the TUGraz. Currently, together with the teams of Prof. Volker A. Coenen (Uniklinik Freiburg) and Prof. Michael Tangermann here in the Radboud University, we are identifying cortical neural markers for aDBS systems with focus on neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. I have recently received funding from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) to characterize the cortical response to DBS in patients with depression and obsessive-compulsive disorders - Project starting in April 2023!
